Because I duly noted in my journals that while in Japan I got either one all the time. And the thing is, these women look nothing alike let alone anything like me.
And I’m particularly concerned about which Whitney they’re thinking of when they say I look just like her.
Whitney, I danced to your music because I loved you and always will. And when I asked the last advanced English-speaking person to comment on my resemblance to Whoopi because I suspected our looking similar might have only been because we both wear glasses and our hair in locks, he said:
“No, it’s because of your colourful personality and I’m a big Star Trek fan.”
Broken Down Stereotypes, this post is for you.

My best “you look like” comment was from a drunk in a pub in the West Country (a Brit here, hello!) who looked me up and down and asked if I’d cooked anything nice today. I was baffled until he revealed he thought I was Nigella Lawson (her off the telly, the posh cook). I have to say, that was some SERIOUSLY strong scrumpy cider he’d been drinking.
am enjoying your blog!

I’m a big cidar fan, and I happen to think Nigella Lawson is super hot sober. He was probably sincere.
